Posture Training Program
This is a skilled training program here at A. Yumang Physical Therapy. This is specifically geared towards decreasing pain, addressing alignment from postural issues such as scoliosis, kyphosis, or just plain “text neck.” This is also good if your child suffers from neck, shoulder, or elbow pain from a heavy backpack or slump posture. This is common in this day and age, especially with the prevalence of mobile devices. This program focuses on identifying issues that facilitate these poor postural habits, muscle imbalance, and alignment asymmetry issues. It begins with a thorough assessment from a PT Consult. We will then train the postural, foundational, and core muscles to help curb these issues. We will address various areas to keep you healthy, strong, better balanced, stable, and mobile. We will then coach you and your child at the end of the program on what exercise needs to be continued and for how long. Unlike the fitness program, this emphasizes postural muscle training, education, and coaching. This is excellent for young students with postural challenges and neck, thoracic, and lower back pain. Young students are constantly on their cell phones or carrying heavy backpacks. Starting the program at a younger age [benefits of early intervention]. It is best to start as soon as possible, 8-16 years of age before future pain escalates.
Train with your PT, PTA, or Fitness trainer, depending on your preference and budget. You can opt for a package of 12 sessions or book individual training sessions for more value. We have 20-minute, 30-minute, or 40-minute sessions available, so you can find a schedule that fits your lifestyle.
Exercise to Go. If you cannot come frequently, we can continue to update your progress, provide monthly feedback, or keep in touch with your gains. Our program is designed to cater to your individual needs. We will provide access to an exercise app where you can correspond with your trainer and give feedback and updates. This personalized approach ensures that your training always aligns with your goals and preferences.
Rest assured, our program is designed to address all the critical areas of your physical health. We will continue to improve your strength and impact endurance, core stability, athletic performance, and posture, ensuring that you maintain your progress after your Rehab.
Improve strength: We will perform using weight training, free weights, monitored strength testings, and updates.
Improve Endurance: Use appropriate equipment such as treadmills, bikes, and plyometrics.
Improve Core Stability: Perform strength training and core training, which includes gym balls, kettlebells, and BOSUball.
Improve Posture: Help decrease the long-term effects of poor posture and reduce unforeseen musculoskeletal issues.
