Blood Flow Restriction (BFR)
Discover the power of BFR, a technique that involves applying a cuff on the arm or leg to reduce blood flow during rehab, strength training, and performance enhancement. This innovative approach has been proven to accelerate healing time for acute injuries and promote muscle growth, making it a valuable tool for those seeking to enhance their strength and performance.
Research has also shown that using protocols with treadmills and bikes helps increase endurance and muscle strength. For injuries, this is great for an ankle sprain, hamstring strain, calf strain, tennis elbow, carpal tunnel, and knee pain. It is excellent for increasing muscle size and strength for athletes and weight lifters. After a hard workout, it helps recovery time so you can perform immediately and quickly. It is excellent for runners, bikers, and endurance athletes who want to perform at their tip-top shape.
For more information about BFR, read the studies from "Owen's Recovery Science".
If you file insurance, they will pay for this as part of the PT Encounter. For us to file this, you have to have an established PT Care plan and be in active therapy sessions.
If you do not have an active encounter, it will be out of pocket for the maintenance program or therapy. The procedure takes about 30 minutes and includes setup. After the PT Consult, you can just come for this procedure fro 30 min.
