Lymphedema/Edema Program

The Lymphedema/Edema Program is a comprehensive program that includes evaluation, treatment, assessment, and coaching to help you sustain your gains. This starts with a thorough examination that takes 30 to 45 minutes. We will assess swelling, weakness, mobility, and its impact on your daily activities. We will also evaluate the co-morbidities and factors that could affect the speed of the outcome and recovery. After the evaluation, we will come up with a plan. This typically could require several encounters with physical therapy in a period. The initial encounter with treatment tends to be a little long (6 weeks- 8 weeks of rehab). This will give us plenty of time to perform assessment and treatment.

After the initial encounter, we will coach you on what you need to do to continue with your success. Typically, a custom-fit hose is recommended. We will also customize an exercise plan for you to help you sustain your gains and keep you functional (doing chores) and active (doing walking or exercises). We will also work closely with your Physician with reports to give you the best optimum care and plan. For this comprehensive program, you may file for insurance or pay cash. Your insurance may require a physician's prescription. We can help you with that information as well.
